We are excited to announce Wilderness Wednesdays in partnership with Camp Sonshine - Shiloh, where our learners spend the day exploring and immersing themselves in nature just outside Lincoln. We spend the day in free play, simply learning to 'be in nature'. They will also have the opportunity to work together, build forts, play games, and become connected to our natural world and each other.
Our Guides use observation and documentation to plan outdoor programs that encourage active exploration, inquiry, independence, kindness & character building, choice, critical thinking & problem solving, wonder, and discovery. Our days are loosely structured to allow space for the learners' curiosity and interest to lead.
In our outdoor program your child will explore as a group as well as have room to independently interact with our wonderful natural environment, alongside Guides who have a love for the outdoors that is highlighted by conservation and stewardship minded practices.

WHY Wilderness Wednesdays?
In an outdoor setting, nature becomes a classroom with no walls, where children learn through self-directed play by using their whole bodies and all of their senses, in an environment that nurtures their curiosity and strengthens their self-esteem. |
Nobody wants to be in the last generation that remembers when it was considered normal and expected for children to go outside and play. Nobody. |
